Statement on another lie by Mr Grégoire Owona and demand for his public apology to the CRM and its national president

STATEMENT ON ANOTHER LIE BY MR GRÉGOIRE OWONA AND DEMAND FOR HIS PUBLIC APOLOGY TO THE CRM AND ITS NATIONAL PRESIDENT

Mr Grégoire Owona, Minister of Labour and Social Security, and also Deputy Secretary General of the CPDM central committee, has relapsed into untruths.

In a post on his Facebook page dated 8 March 2025, he lied, once again, to the opinion.

He wrote bluntly in a post crudely entitled ‘BAS and Kamto’: ‘(…) We regret to note through a press release that a party and its President are insidiously confirming their support and encouragement for violence through the latest actions of the BAS in Brussels (…)’.

The CRM has in no way produced, or made public, the statement attributed to it by Mr Grégoire OWONA. This press release is a false, a crude fabrication by the CPDM regime, which is in a state of desperation in the face of its disastrous record on the eve of a crucial election for our country, which it knows it will lose in advance.

Faced with rising popular anger, the country’s gravediggers are afraid of having to answer, at the ballot box, for the mistakes they have made over the past 43 years.

The CRM calls on Mr Gregoire Owona to apologise to himself and to his National President, in the same form and through the same channel as his serious defamatory accusations. In the absence of such an apology, the CRM and its National President reserve the right to take legal action against him.

The fact that the CRM and its National President has so far been de facto excluded from justice will not discourage such proceedings.

One day, our country’s justice system will be free.

The current regime is demonstrating that it wants to avoid the forthcoming presidential election by all possible means.

Its arrogant and obstinate refusal to publish the national electoral roll, its production of false statements attributed to the CRM, and its crude attempt to manipulate public opinion through identical headlines in orderly newspapers are all part of a fateful move against our country. Perhaps the worst is yet to come.

Cameroonians must remain vigilant.

Signed in Yaoundé on 9 March 2025

Maurice KAMTO, National President of the CRM,

Candidate of the CRM and the PAC in the forthcoming presidential election
