MK’s THOUGHTS N° 071-075

MK’s THOUGHTS N° 071-2025.

The defence and security forces are an integral part of the People. They cannot set themselves up as the People’s enemy when the People demand, and demand peacefully, respect for the law and for the rights enshrined in the legal order of the Republic. Defending the institutions does not mean defending individuals, clans or even a party or coalition of political parties; it means protecting the laws, as rules or as institutions, when these are attacked by violence. To repress the population in the name of defending individuals or institutions that trample on the law is to attack the People of which the defence and security forces are a component, in whose midst they live and whom they must protect. If the security forces were to repress the population under these conditions, they would become instruments of chaos. But they must never forget that no force can definitively defeat its People.

MK’s THOUGHTS N° 072-2025.

Cameroon has never been an ordinary country. Saying so is not national chauvinism. Before independence, our nationalism was born of almost nothing, in a land with some of the richest socio-cultural diversity in the world. After independence, we took on challenges thought impossible for black people, such as creating and successfully running a national airline, a national shipping company, an oil refinery, a national investment company, reaching the quarter-finals of a football World Cup, and so on. At a time when concerns are mounting on all sides about the fate of our country in the presidential election of October 2025, Cameroon must surprise the world by making political change possible through democratic alternation, through the ballot box and in peace. We must all work towards this.

MK’s THOUGHTS N° 073-2025.

We don’t all become fully aware of what’s at stake in a struggle at the same time. Beyond certain steps that may seem illegible or even morally unacceptable, the most important thing is collective awareness, the fact that a people is coming of age and deciding to take its destiny into its own hands. No one will be excluded from the struggle for collective survival, as long as he or she is not an obstacle to our people’s march towards liberation. Given what is at stake and the urgency of the situation, we cannot afford the luxury of exclusion.

MK’s THOUGHTS N° 074-2025.

Africa is not immune to the world’s turbulence. It will not be spared by the geostrategic redistribution of the cards. The powerful have destroyed international law. There is no longer any shield for poor and weak countries. Already, attempts are being made to transpose to our continent a war that broke out elsewhere, far away on the edge of Europe. The revival of the arms race and the hybrid war between competing superpowers herald a new global war in which the conquest or re-conquest of Africa will rapidly become one of the major issues. So much the worse if Africa does not understand that it is time to prepare for it, and prefers to sink into internal power struggles fuelled by ethnic hatred.

MK’s THOUGHTS N° 075-2025.

We saw the suns rise with our hopes, and the nights come with our suffering. And we thought we had lost everything forever. Now a people is gradually rising to say that it was forged in struggle and resilience, that its heroes have emerged from adversity, and shine like stars on the horizon of our Nation’s march. Here is a people rising to say that there is no endless suffering for those who choose to fight, no eternal power. No one will stop the march of our people, because no one can stop the wind.
